Hello! My name is Lydia, and I'm a mother of two (teen and preteen) and a recent transplant from Massachusetts. I have a very patient and calming presence (friends tell me that's my "super power") and am a sensitive and empathetic soul which has been a great support for me in my work as a caregiver and a teacher - I want to see everyone get what they need and feel important and cared for, and make it a point to listen carefully to what people share! I get a lot of joy and satisfaction from helping others which is what drew me to caregiving in the first place. I especially love to learn about people and help them find ways to appreciate and share their unique gifts in the world, which when elderly are often their stories and wisdom- that is one of my favorite parts of caregiving. My other passions are music and art/writing, and I've taught meditation for many years (and still do). I've also illustrated several books and am working on some of my own. I think everyone has a story to tell and along with the tasks daily living I also include that as vital - making sure people feel heard.
